Asante Health System has a tradition of recruiting preeminent medical professionals and is currently seeking a Medical Director to lead their Behavioral Health Services. The Medical Director of Psychiatry will provide clinical and administrative leadership to a team of psychiatrists and advanced practice clinicians, as well as a robust support staff including social workers, clinical nurse specialists and other team members.
The Medical Director will also be the first holder of a Medical Chair established by donors through Asante Foundation. This prestigious Medical Chair will provide funds for the use at the discretion of the Chair holder that can be directed for people, technology, facilities and programs that support patient care and research activities.
Asante’s Behavioral Health Center is the only hospital-based inpatient provider of care between Portland and the Bay Area. In an era when many regional hospital systems are shutting down behavioral health facilities, Asante in collaboration with philanthropic donors, has invested nearly $10 million to provide this vital service to our communities. The newly designed and renovated Behavioral Health Unit has 24 beds and supportive spaces including a new outdoor area for patients to enjoy during their treatment. This is an important mission-based service for Asante and is strongly supported by the communities we serve.
Asante is the region’s most comprehensive healthcare provider, serving nine-counties and over 600,000 in Southern Oregon and Northern California. Asante is not-for-profit organization and employs more than 6,000 people working in three hospitals in Jackson and Josephine counties. Asante is locally owned and governed by a volunteer board of directors. It includes Asante Ashland Community Hospital in Ashland, Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center in Medford, Asante Three Rivers Medical Center in Grants Pass, Asante Physician Partners, and additional healthcare partnerships throughout the region.
Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center (ARRMC) in Medford is a regional referral and trauma center accredited by DNV (Det Norske Veritas), an organization with some of the toughest standards in healthcare. ARRMC has been ranked as a 100 Top Hospital in the nation by Fortune/IMB Watson Health for the third time in a row and eighth time overall and one of its 50 top cardiovascular hospitals in the nation. Asante also ranked as #10 Top Hometown Hospitals in the West in 2023, according to Doximity.
The Medical Director shall provide leadership to achieve the Mission, Vision, Values, Goals and Objectives for the program. The Medical Director will be responsible for all aspects of the Service Line across all divisions, including growth, quality, and service education. The role is designed to be 50% clinical service and 50% leadership.
Highlights:
Our culture, values and people create an environment of sustained medical excellence. All three Asante hospitals have earned five stars from CMS for overall quality — the top rating given. In addition, Asante has been named a “Top 15 Health System” 9 years in a row by Fortune/IBM Watson Health! Our ambulatory care team consistently achieves above a 4-star rating from our MedAdvantage plans. If you want to join a team that will allow you to grow and care in an environment of excellence, this opportunity is for you.
Our vision, as a department within Asante Physician Partners, is to be your trusted health partner for life – every person, every time.
