Psychiatrist needed for Locum full time coverage, 7 on / 7 off or PREFER 14 on / 14 off starting early October 2023.
Hours are M-F 8:00am-5:00pm with night call and weekend on-call

20 adult beds with consult coverage to Medical / Detox unit.

• Average daily census is 20 →current psychiatrist is seeing an average of 20 patients with assistance of a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
• ALOS is 5-7 days
• Can be up to 10 admissions per week.
• Can be up to 10 discharges per week.
• Average length of stay is 5-7 days
• Average daily caseload on the inpatient unit can go as high as 20 with NP assistance. Consult coverage daily as requested on Medical Units and consult coverage for the Detox unit as requested.
• Some patient encounters will be brief, others may be new admissions.

The job consists of performing initial psychiatric evaluations, daily rounding, possible psych evaluations on the medical floor, detox unit and ED as indicated.

Documentation is Meditech EMR which is compatible with dictation. Support and training will be available.

Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible within 5 years

Must have PA Medical License

Credentialing takes approximately 2-3 weeks as long as all required documents are received
