Job Summary:

As a Regional Psychiatrist, your role will involve overseeing psychiatric clinical programs in Washington State and ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines. You will conduct evaluations and assessments for new patients at our partner facilities. The successful candidate will play a crucial part in evaluating and treating psychiatric disorders, developing care plans, and effectively communicating with nursing staff, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform psychiatric evaluations and assessments to determine the appropriate treatment plan for each patient.
  • Provide medication management services by evaluating medication effectiveness and side effects, prescribing medication, and adjusting dosages as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient, including progress notes, treatment plans, and diagnosis codes.
  • Provide clinical oversight and review of medical documentation created by PMHNPs serving the practice.
  • Collaborate with other mental health professionals, including therapists, psychologists, and social workers, to deliver comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings to provide progress updates on patients and coordinate care.
  • Attend training and continuing education programs to stay updated on best practices and new research in psychiatry.

Requirements:
  • Completion of a psychiatry residency training program and a minimum of 1 years of post-residency experience as a psychiatrist in a psychiatric facility.
  • M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Licensure as a physician in the relevant state.
  • Licensed by the applicable State Board of Pharmacy in good standing to prescribe controlled substances.
  • Possession of a valid state driver's license.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Knowledge of general medicine and psychiatry, as well as current developments in the field of psychiatry.
  • Familiarity with hospital and clinic organization, management, and procedures.
  • Ability to skillfully diagnose and treat severely and persistently mentally ill patients.
  • Capability to analyze situations and determine effective courses of action.
  • Proficiency in preparing records and reports.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Upholding objectivity and confidentiality.
