We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Outpatient Adult Psychiatrist to join our client’s team. As a Psychiatrist, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and therapeutic interventions for adults seeking mental health services in an outpatient setting. Your expertise and clinical knowledge will be essential in diagnosing and treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and delivering high-quality patient-centered care.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including diagnostic interviews, mental status examinations, and review of medical and psychiatric histories, to formulate accurate diagnoses.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices and tailored to meet each patient's unique needs and goals.
  • Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications, adjusting dosages and treatment plans as necessary to optimize patient outcomes and minimize side effects.
  • Provide evidence-based psychotherapy interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), or supportive therapy, to support patients' recovery and overall well-being.
  • Collaborate with other mental health professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and therapists, to provide comprehensive and integrated care for patients.
  • Conduct regular follow-up appointments to assess treatment progress, address concerns, and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and other documentation in compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
  • Stay abreast of current research, advancements, and best practices in psychiatry through ongoing professional development activities and engagement in continuing education opportunities.
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and peer consultations to enhance clinical knowledge, share expertise, and promote a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Adhere to ethical and legal standards, maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy throughout all interactions and communications.

Requirements:

  • Medical degree (MD) from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry.
  • Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice Psychiatry in New York.
  • Strong diagnostic skills and expertise in treating a wide range of psychiatric disorders commonly encountered in adults.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in evidence-based psychopharmacology and psychotherapy interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build therapeutic relationships with patients.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment, demonstrating professionalism and respect for colleagues.

Strong organizational and time management skills to handle a diverse caseload and effectively prioritize patient care.

Please note- The annual base salary range is $180k to $250k. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
