I have several Psychiatry jobs coming available in correctional facilities in the state of California. In speaking with my contact, I learned that that they have a lot of openings that will be available in the next couple of months. In order to be ready for those openings, we will need to present providers approximately 2 months prior to the job opening. That would be right now. If you are interested in working corrections this summer, please let me know right away and we can start putting together your presentation.
The jobs in Northern California seem to be ranging between $285 and $335 per hour. She told me there would likely be about 7 openings. Southern California pay rate is somewhat less at $215 to $285 per hour. They are expecting to have about 9 openings there. Please let me know where you are seeking to work, and I can get you information about the pay rate in specific facilities. They require a 6 month contract. Schedules are generally 5 X 8 hour or 4 X 10 hour shifts, with a few exceptions.
