Seeking a board-certified Psychiatrist to help develop and grow the inpatient psychiatry program as a full-time Medical Director for Bay Area Hospital in the beautiful coastal community of Coos Bay, Oregon. This 13-bed acute care facility is located directly in the hospital itself and is currently supported by a nurse practitioner, Family Medicine physician and community Psychiatrist. The inpatient unit works with patients of all ages and most commonly works with cases involving addiction, anxiety schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and co-occurring disorders. This is an opportunity to help build up a strong, community-oriented psychiatric program that serves patients throughout the entire southern coast of Oregon.

  • Medical Director role with a mix of clinical and administrative duties
  • Monday to Friday schedule with flexible administrative hours
  • Must be a board-certified Psychiatrist
  • Must be licensed in the state of Oregon
  • 2 to 5 years of experience is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership experience highly preferred

Bay Area Hospital offers a comprehensive range of diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients across Oregon’s southern coast. The hospital’s services include medical, surgical, pediatric, critical care, home health, outpatient and acute inpatient psychiatric, oncology, obstetrics and more. The hospital features a Level III Trauma Center and has an accredited Cardiovascular Imaging Center, Cancer Center, Sleep Study Center, Radiology and Mammography Imaging program and Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery program.
