Job Description

A Tampa, Florida based client is seeking an excellent and compassionate Psychiatrist to join their community health center and provide outpatient psychiatric care. An ideal candidate is collaborative, believes in patient-centered care, and is a motivated leader. This position would see all ages.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduated from an accredited medical school with a MD or DO degree
  • Current Florida medical license
  • Completed an accredited residency program
  • Current DEA certificate
  • Board certified or board eligible in psychiatry
  • Current BLS certification

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct diagnostic assessment and evaluation of patients
  • Coordinates care with the primary care physician, participates in treatment plan reviews
  • Makes appropriate referrals to other facilities for further testing, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care; orders and review appropriate lab tests and other medical procedures
  • Provides appropriate and adequate treatment to patients, with the ideal endpoint being remission of psychiatric symptoms; provides adequate appropriate and education to patients
  • Participates in Peer Review and Quality Improvement initiatives
  • Oversees the broad range of the organizations treatment modalities performed by both psychiatrists and other health professionals for the benefit of the mentally ill
  • Serves patients in a warm accepting and respectful manner; does not impose his/her values on the patient
  • Periodic supervision and teaching of residents, medical students and other allied health professionals
  • Conduct individual, family, group and medication consultation sessions, as appropriate
  • Other duties as assigned
