NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, located just 15 minutes from NYC, is an acute care teaching hospital academically affiliated with Weill-Cornell Medical College. Dedicated to providing high quality patient care to a diverse community, Lincoln Medical Center is a NYS designated Level I Trauma and Stroke Center and has Centers of Excellence in all medical specialties including its award-winning Cancer and Breast Centers.

Responsibilities:

Under general direction, is in charge of a psychiatric division of a municipal hospital center, the mental health services of a large correctional institution or several small institutions or a major psychiatric evaluation and treatment center within the City's correctional system or within a large City agency. Directs professional and para-professional staff in the psychiatric examination, diagnosis and treatment of patients in one of the above settings; performs related work.

Psychiatrist will provide a trauma and culturally-informed comprehensive mental health assessment and treatment to the adults and children residing in NYC’s DV Shelter System and to other survivors of Domestic Violence. This includes psychiatric assessment and consultation, psychopharmacological therapy and other treatment services as appropriate for victims of IPV. Be part of a city–wide team of providers that also includes psychologists and social workers.

General tasks and responsibilities will include:

Qualifications:

Minimum Educational Requirements:

1. Possession of a valid license to practice medicine in the State of New York; and,

2. Completion of three years of approved residency training in Psychiatry; and,

3. Three years of full-time, paid, post-residency experience as a Clinical Psychiatrist, including at least one year in a supervisory or administrative capacity.

5. M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical or osteopathy school.

6. ABPN Board Eligible

KNOWLEDGEABLE IN:
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team setting.· Demonstrated interest and clinical experience in treating victims of trauma and/or Domestic Violence.

· Familiarity with high-risk patients and cultural sensitivity in community settings.

· Clinical and/or services research experience preferred.

· Experience conducting evidence-based treatments in group and individual modalities, familiarity with high-risk populations and community settings, experience in psychiatric care of medical patients, demonstrated interest in maternal mental health. Administrative and research experience a plus.

· Four (4) years’ experience in a Hospital setting, preferably in Behavioral Health Services

Annual Base Salary Range: $236,900 (board eligible) - $247,200 (board certified)
