Inpatient Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Locums Job in California | June and Ongoing for at Least 3 Months

One of our partnering facilities is seeking inpatient PMR coverage for up to 3 months, beginning in June. Will be working in the inpatient rehab unit 5 days per week, full-time. The facility is looking for candidates with spinal cord injury rehab experience and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Shift Details:
--Start: As soon as credentialed, likely June
--Reason for coverage: Maternity leave, assignment will last 3 months minimum
--Coverage needed: 1 FTE, 4 weeks per month
--Inpatient only, no clinic, no call
--Shifts: Tuesday - Saturday, 12pm-8pm
--Average census: 25-28 per day

Duties:
--Saturdays - High priority support for admits
--Provide comprehensive rehabilitation care for patients with neurologic, orthopedic, and complex medical conditions
--Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (Hospitalists, PT, OT, SLP, Nursing, Case Management, and Social Work)
--Participate in team rounds, patient evaluations, functional goal-setting, and discharge planning
--Provide medical oversight, pain and spasticity management, and ensure high-quality, goal-directed rehabilitation outcomes

Candidate Requirements:
--Experience in spinal cord injury rehabilitation highly preferred
--Prior inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred
--Strong communication and teamwork skills
--Commitment to patient-centered, mission-driven care
--Board Certified required
--Active California required
--Clean malpractice highly preferred
--Specific availability required for presentation

--Support staff: Full therapy team (PT, OT, SLP), rehab nursing, case management, social work and access to all hospital staff
--Setting: inpatient Rehab unit
--Beds: 400+
--EMR: Cerner
--Center for Rehabilitation Medicine: CARF-accredited Inpatient Rehabilitation Program providing comprehensive care for stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, multiple trauma, amputation, and complex medical rehabilitation
Local travel preferred but not required
