As the senior management official for PM&RS, you will be responsible for all clinical, administrative, educational, and research activities within the service. Reporting directly to the Chief of Staff, you will lead a dedicated team of PM&RS physicians, staff therapists, ancillary healthcare providers, and administrative support staff.

Job Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision: Directly supervise and mentor PM&RS team members. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
Program Management: Plan, develop, coordinate, direct, and evaluate an extensive physical medicine rehabilitation program across multiple sites, including VA medical centers, outpatient clinics, and contract clinics in Middle Tennessee and North Georgia.
Clinical Excellence: Provide direct patient care and consultation in support of primary care, acute medicine, surgery, psychiatry, nursing home units, rehabilitation clinics, hospice, and more.
Educational Leadership: Ensure robust educational activities for VA staff. Facilitate professional development and enforce VA-required training.
Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of healthcare delivery, meeting community, state, and federal standards including VHA, JCAHO, and CARF.
Research Facilitation: Support and foster research initiatives in rehabilitation services and technologies, ensuring alignment with veteran needs and securing funding support.
Stakeholder Communication: Maintain active communication and coordination with the Chief of Staff, GRECC Director, academic affiliates, and other key stakeholders.
Qualifications
• Board-Certified Physiatrist
• Academic credentials suitable for appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level at Meharry Medical College and Vanderbilt University Medical Center
• Strong relationship with Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center (GRECC) and the Geriatric Fellowship Director
