State-of-the-art, 40-bed, 56,500 square foot inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital. We provide customized intensive rehabilitation services to people recovering from disabling diseases or injuries, such as strokes, brain, spinal cord and orthopedic injuries, as well as individuals with chronic illnesses such as cerebral palsy, ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease), multiple sclerosis or Parkinson’s disease.
About the Facility:
• Adult Only
• ADC of 32
• Specialty support includes Neurosurgery, Neurology, Trauma/Critical Care, Medical and Surgical Orthopedics, Interventional Radiology, Interventional Pain, Pulmonology, Cardiology, Nephrology
The Medical Director position will collaborate with the entire clinical team to provide medical direction in conformance with the facility's policies and procedures, state and federal laws and regulations, including the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and The Joint Commission.
Responsibilities Include:
• The Physician will have a clinical focus on general physical medicine and rehabilitation
• Internal Medicine & Midlevel support serves as patients’ primary physician & performs
H&P’s.
• Assessment and management of patients with long term functional limitations;
development of a plan of care in consultation with other specialists
• Proficient managing medically complex patients and comfortable taking care of a variety
of rehab-related diagnoses on the unit.
• Perform medical procedures, such as disc decompression, prolotherapy, and
vertebroplasty to treat pain and improve physical functioning
• Lead a team of medical professionals, which may include physical therapists as well as
occupational therapists, with the goal of optimizing patient care
• Monitor ongoing progress and health of patients and adjust treatment plans
accordingly
• Provide tools and guidance that allow that patient to adapt and improve overall health
physical functioning
• Counsel patients as well as their families
• Attend team conferences covering regulatory clinical team to ensure compliance and
pharmaceutical aspects regarding medications, patient safety, and quality of care.
• Medical executive committee collaboration. Review of KPI’s & Discharges
• Additional procedural opportunities may include botulinum toxin injections, baclofen
pump management and EMG’s. Outpatient Clinic Available for EMG’s and Botox
