A facility that does inpatient rehab work is seeking a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician for locum tenens coverage. This is a 10 bed unit, but the unit does stay pretty full. They have hospitalists that are consulted on all cases to take care of any medical needs that are not related to their rehab/therapy. The physician would do all the admissions and discharges.
Southern Illinois is full of beautiful walking trails, waterfalls, and mountains! While on assignment, visit Ferne Clyffe State Park, Giant City State Park, or Shawnee National Forest!
The expectation is that they would be at the unit each day M-F to see patients (max 10), do required notes, admissions, discharges, etc. There are no other providers or APPs. PM&R physician covers it all. This physician would need to be available by phone during all off hours during this two week time period. They would also need to come in on Sat/Sun IF there is an admission or some other need to see a patient, but possible that there would be no need to come in and just be on call.
