Palm Beach County, Florida, Medical Director - Inpatient PM&R Opening Clinical Role:
  • Seeking a Physician Board Certified or Eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehab
  • Permanent employment opportunity
  • Practice Setting: Inpatient
  • 35 - bed rehabilitation unit ~ Hospital Based
  • Opportunity to develop a consultation service in the region and steer an inpatient rehab service line

Administration Duties:
  • Conduct meetings at least monthly with each Physiatrist and the Administrative Director for the purpose of sharing information and updates regarding any practice changes and monitoring practice changes to assure compliance therewith
  • Participate in the development of Rehabilitation Department surveys, JCAHO surveys, CARF surveys, AHCA reviews, and any other activities related to rehabilitation services at the Hospital
  • Consistently work in collaboration with all Hospital personnel, including, without limitation, the Chief Nursing Officer, the Vice President designated by the CEO, and the Administrative Director and act as a liaison between the Department and the Hospital
  • Consistently provide coverage at Hospital to provide consistency and continuity in leadership and medical care
  • Immediately notify the CEO or his or her designee of any problem with the performance of any Physiatrist, including, without limitation, quality of care concerns and disruptive or uncooperative behavior. In the event Hospital, after consultation with the Medical Director, determines, in its sole discretion, that any such Physiatrist shall cease providing services under this Agreement, Hospital shall notify Contractor of same, and Contractor immediately shall cause such Physiatrist to cease providing services under this Agreement. In the event Contractor fails to remove such Physiatrist when requested, Hospital may, at its options, immediately terminate this Agreement
  • Assist in coordinating educational programs with emphasis on physical medicine and rehabilitation issues and appropriate treatment modalities
  • Review and approve inpatient rehabilitation admissions to ensure compliance with applicable admission criteria and the timeliness of the admissions process
  • Monitor appropriate utilization of the rehabilitation unit, acute care and outpatient therapies by serving as liaison with referring and consulting physicians, when such matters are raised by the Rehabilitation Department staff of when brought to the Medical Director's attention
