Inpatient Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician Locums Job | March Ongoing | Atlanta, Georgia Area

Jackson + Coker is partnered with a client in the Atlanta area that needs Inpatient Physiatry locums coverage starting late March through the end of the year. There is a need for two full-time locums, with 1:2 weekly call rotation.

Details for Assignment #100220:
--Start: March 18 or 25, depending on privileges
--Coverage will be shared between 3 physiatrists, 1 attending/chief + 2 locums. Locums will rotate call responsibilities every other week, or every 2 weeks based on preference.
--When on call rotation, locums responsible for night and weekend call: 8am-5pm in unit followed by night call. Weekend call: 24-hour, 2 hours in unit as needed
--When on consult only rotation, locums shifts 8am-5pm.
--Locums expected to have 12 patients per day (half of the unit)
--Rehab patients will be transferred directly down from ICU units
--Patients will be mostly spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury and stroke
--Support staff: Nursing float pool of 1:4 or 1:6
--Procedures: Joint injection as needed
--Current consult service - 27 new consults
--Nine days from admission to ER to transfer to Rehab
--Goals: Tighten up length of stay, get patients out of ICU and rehab care quicker, give access of good rehab care to patients that otherwise could not afford it
--Will obtain emergency privs for late March start
