We are seeking a General Physiatrist to join our expanding PM&R group that serves patients in all phases of the rehab continuum in Central Virginia! This is a busy rehab practice that is part of a physician-led multi-specialty clinic that is part of one of Virginia’s largest health systems. The General physiatrist will be responsible for providing comprehensive rehabilitation care to patients in the inpatient and outpatient setting, focusing on enhancing their functional abilities and improving their quality of life. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality care to patients with a wide range of conditions, including but not limited to strokes, traumatic brain injuries (TBI), spinal cord injuries, orthopedic conditions, and general rehabilitation needs. The physiatrist will employ a multidisciplinary approach, coordinating with other healthcare professionals to design and implement individualized treatment plans that enhance patients’ functional abilities and overall quality of life. In addition to the inpatient responsibilities, the physiatrist will also manage an outpatient continuity clinic several half days a week, ensuring seamless and consistent rehabilitation care for patients transitioning from inpatient to outpatient settings. This is a not-for-profit academic health system, so you’ll be expected to apply for an academic appointment and be involved in teaching and visiting medical students and residents in our numerous Graduate Medical Education programs. These are spread over many hospitals supporting 70+ specialties. The position offers a competitive salary with incentive tied to productivity and quality criteria. There is a comprehensive benefits package including paid malpractice and tail insurance, healthcare insurance, and retirement benefits to include a fully funded pension plan. Nestled in the heart of Virginia’s picturesque landscape, this vibrant community offers a blend of charm, natural beauty, and a rich historical heritage. Surrounded by majestic mountains and serene valleys, residents enjoy an abundance of outdoor recreational opportunities, from hiking along scenic trails to fishing in crystal-clear lakes. The city boasts a thriving arts and cultural scene, with numerous galleries, theaters, and music venues that showcase local talent and entertain audiences of all ages. The tight-knit community fosters a strong sense of belonging, where neighbors become friends and support one another in times of need. With a wide range of delicious dining options and unique shops, there’s always something new to discover around every corner. Embracing both tradition and progress, this city offers a quality of life that is truly exceptional.
