Responsibilities:

Join a vibrant team of dedicated pediatricians and support providers to care for some of the most vulnerable in our society today, children. The team of dedicated physicians and providers work to ensure that the children of the Bronx have the services and support required to grow and develop in a healthy environment.

As a general pediatrician, you will spend most of your time in in Lincoln’s Child Abuse and Sexual Assault (CASA) clinic working with the medical director, and a portion of your time in the Pediatric Ambulatory Care Department providing well-child care and supervising Pediatric residents. Previous experience providing care for physical and sexual abuse is not required - the medical director of CASA Clinic has a structured training, mentoring, and ongoing QA process to develop your expertise in this field.

You will also work closely with NYC Administrations for Children’s Services and law enforcement agencies in ensuring timely, coordinated medical evaluations in cases of suspected maltreatment, and you will serve on NYC Health + Hospital’s system-wide Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Council.

General tasks and responsibilities will include:

Perform outpatient consultations for child maltreatment as the primary clinical responsibility.

Perform inpatient consultations for child maltreatment and be available by phone to the ED.

Provide primary care in the Pediatric Ambulatory Care Department, including supervising residents and medical students. Serve on-call for the Pediatric inpatient several weekends per year.

Co-lead development and application of hospital-wide policies addressing child maltreatment.

Participate in weekly multidisciplinary patient case reviews with the CASA team.

Testify in Family and in Supreme Court and participate in community meetings with child welfare.

Teach residents, and medical students.

Participate in Departmental activities, including QI, M&M, and grand rounds.

Participate and/or lead quality improvement initiatives.

Participate in Foster Care initiatives aligned with interest of the new team member.

Qualifications:

Licensed to practice in NY state

MD or DO

Completion of residency in ACGME accredited pediatric residency program

BC or BE in Pediatrics

Proof of Covid-19 vaccination is required prior to hire

Annual Base Salary Range: $ 172,298.00 - $ 177,683.00
