Locum Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist

Palm Health Resources is seeking a fellowship-trained Pediatric & Congenital Cardiac Anesthesiologist for an ongoing locum assignment in Tacoma, Washington.

This is an opportunity to support the continued growth of a rapidly evolving, high-acuity pediatric and congenital heart program, including cardiac surgery, Cath/EP, advanced cardiac imaging, and congenital heart disease patients across the lifespan.

• Start: ASAP | Ongoing
• Setting: Inpatient childrens hospital / congenital heart program
• Scheduled clinical coverage + call
• 24/7 congenital cardiac call model
• Approximately 1 cardiac surgery patient/day, plus Cath/EP and imaging
• 8 ORs | Epic EMR
• Temp privileges available
• Nationally competitive 1099 compensation Palm pays at the maximum approved rate
• Travel, lodging, and malpractice provided

Coverage includes:

• Pediatric and congenital cardiac surgery pump and non-pump cases
• Cardiac Cath and Electrophysiology
• Cardiac CT and MRI
• Non-cardiac procedures for patients with congenital heart disease
• Pediatric and adult congenital heart disease patients
• Emergency/add-on cardiac cases, reoperations and take-backs

Call is coordinated with the on-call cardiac surgeon and interventional cardiologist for operative, Cath/EP, and other after-hours congenital cardiac needs.

When available, physicians may also assist with weekday pediatric anesthesia coverage and serve as third-call airway emergency backup.

Not included: OB anesthesia, routine general pediatric anesthesia call, or adult anesthesia outside congenital heart disease.

• Board Certified Anesthesiologist
• Pediatric Anesthesiology fellowship required
• Strong pediatric/congenital cardiac anesthesia experience
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, ABLS

This is particularly attractive for a pediatric cardiac anesthesiologist who wants to contribute to a growing congenital heart program, rather than simply filling OR shifts. The combination of cardiac surgery, Cath/EP, imaging, and adult congenital exposure offers meaningful subspecialty work in a market where fellowship-trained pediatric cardiac anesthesiologists remain difficult to recruit.
