Full time
A highly respected pediatric program is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatrician to join a combined Pediatric Emergency Department and Inpatient Unit in Annapolis, Maryland. This unique position offers a blend of inpatient pediatric hospital medicine and pediatric emergency care, making it an excellent opportunity for both experienced physicians and new graduates seeking broad clinical exposure.
Position Highlights
• Combined Pediatric Emergency Department and Inpatient Pediatric Unit
• Full-time and part-time opportunities available
• Day, evening, night, and nocturnist options available
• Excellent opportunity for new graduates
• Flexible shift options:
• 8-hour shifts
• 10-hour shifts
• 12-hour shifts
• Full-time schedule averages 32 clinical hours per week
• Part-time opportunities available with a minimum of 64 hours per month
Practice Environment
• 18-bed combined Pediatric Emergency and Inpatient Unit
• Approximately 20,000 pediatric emergency visits annually
• Approximately 1,000 pediatric admissions annually
• Subspecialty-rich community hospital environment
• Strong relationships with two nearby tertiary pediatric centers
• Dedicated team of:
• 11 experienced Pediatricians
• Pediatric Nurse Practitioners
• 24-hour dedicated pediatric physician coverage
• Additional 16 hours of daily double coverage with a second physician or APP
Clinical Responsibilities
• Pediatric emergency department care
• Pediatric inpatient management
• Opportunity to perform pediatric emergency procedures
• Management of hospitalized pediatric patients
• Evidence-based clinical care and quality initiatives
• Participation in departmental quality and safety programs
Ideal Candidate
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics
• Emergency medicine experience preferred but not required
• Strong clinical and communication skills
• Interest in both inpatient pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine
• New graduates encouraged to apply
