Pediatric Surgeon Opportunity in Richmond, VA
Position Overview
A growing pediatric surgical program is seeking a Board-Certified Pediatric Surgeon to provide comprehensive surgical care for newborns, infants, children, and adolescents in Richmond, Virginia. This opportunity offers a balanced mix of clinic and operative time, strong referral support from an established pediatric network, dedicated pediatric inpatient services, and opportunities to help shape the future growth of pediatric surgical services.
Qualifications
* MD or DO
* Board Certified in Pediatric Surgery
* Eligible for Virginia Medical Licensure
* Strong commitment to pediatric surgical excellence
* Interest in multidisciplinary pediatric care and program development
Position Highlights

Clinical Responsibilities
* Evaluate pediatric surgical patients
* Perform preoperative, operative, and postoperative care
* Collaborate with pediatricians and pediatric specialists
* Manage inpatient consultations and surgical follow-up care
* Participate in multidisciplinary pediatric care planning
Surgical Procedures
Procedures may include:
* Appendectomy
* Biopsy Procedures
* Pyloric Stenosis Repair
* Hernia Repair
* Cholecystectomy
* Incision & Drainage Procedures
* Gastrostomy Tube Placement
* Device Implant Procedures
* Tracheotomy
* Exploratory Laparotomy
* Bowel Resections
* Additional pediatric general surgical procedures
Schedule & Call
* Monday–Friday
* Average Patient Volume: 12–15 Patients Per Day
* Call Schedule: 1:3
* Inpatient Consults: Approximately 2–6 Per Week
Operating Room & Clinic Structure
Flexible scheduling options including:
* Full Day Dedicated OR Block Time, or
* Two Half-Days Plus Additional Block Time
* Two Full Clinic Days Weekly
