Description
UNC Health is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Intensivist to join our Pediatric Intensive Care team on a per diem basis. This role provides clinical coverage in a multidisciplinary PICU setting, caring for critically ill infants, children, and adolescents.
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based care to pediatric patients in the PICU
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team, including nursing, respiratory therapy, and consulting services
- Supervise and support trainees and advanced practice providers as applicable
- Participate in handoffs, care coordination, and documentation in the electronic medical record
- Adhere to institutional policies, clinical guidelines, and patient safety standards
Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree
- Fellowship Training in Pediatric Critical Care
- Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine
- Eligibility for medical licensure in the practicing state
- Current BLS and PALS certification (ACLS as required)
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
Schedule & Coverage:
- Per diem coverage based on departmental needs
- Flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required
