JOB OVERVIEW
• Job Title: Pediatrician
• Job Type: Locum Tenens
• Location: Multiple Locations in CA (San Jose, CA | Lancaster, CA)
• Service Setting: Outpatient
• Coverage Type: Clinical Only
• Clinical Shift Schedule: M-F daytime schedule (8–9 hour shifts depending on location)
COVERAGE LOCATIONS & START DATES
• San Jose, CA – Indian Health Center of Santa Clara Valley
- Start Date: Mar 30, 2026
- Schedule: M-F, 8a – 5p
• Lancaster, CA – Bartz-Altadonna Community Health Center
- Start Date: Apr 6, 2026
- Schedule: M-F, typically 8a – 4p (flexible 7a – 3p or 9a – 5p)
PATIENT INFORMATION
• Patient Demographics: Infants and Pediatrics
• Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 23 – 25 patients per day
• Case Mix: Bread and butter outpatient pediatrics including newborn visits, sick visits, and well-child exams
FACILITY INFORMATION
• EMR System: Epic
• Office Equipment Available: Standard outpatient pediatric clinic equipment
• Support Staff Available: Medical Assistants and LVNs; each provider typically assigned an MA with LVN support as needed
• Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
• Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 30 – 45 days
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
• Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: All-inclusive rate structure; some assignments include approximately $1,000 monthly stipend for travel and lodging
• Orientation: Some assignments bill orientation at 50% of the hourly rate
REQUIRED PROCEDURES
• Routine pediatric examinations and wellness visits
• Diagnosis and treatment of common pediatric illnesses
• Preventive care and patient counseling
• Newborn and infant wellness visits
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Licenses: Active CA medical license
• Board: Board Certified in Pediatrics
• DEA: Active DEA Certification
• Certifications: BLS
• Experience: New graduates may be considered if board certified; preference for providers with 2+ years of experience
• Other Qualifications: Spanish speaking ability preferred for some clinic locations
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide outpatient pediatric care for scheduled clinic patients
• Diagnose and treat pediatric illnesses and conditions
• Perform newborn, infant, and pediatric wellness examinations
• Coordinate care with clinic staff and support personnel
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Epic EMR system
