The Department of Pediatrics and the Division of Pediatric Cardiology at the Childrens Hospital of Michigan are currently seeking a dedicated pediatric interventional cardiologist to join our cardiology team providing congenital cardiac care in southeast Michigan.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform diagnostic and Interventional cardiology procedures of all complexities
- Sharing interventional cardiology call duties
- interventional cardiology consultative service
- Providing outpatient care at our main campus and possible outreach locations
The catheterization laboratory consists of 2 fully equipped suites both capable of performing hybrid/surgical procedures. The complete range of interventional procedures are performed including transcatheter septal defect closure, complex pulmonary artery stents, pulmonary valve implantation, patent ductus arteriosus stents, revascularization of occluded vessels, hybrid procedures and transcatheter stage I procedures.
The successful candidate will join an experienced interventional cardiology partner, a team of 17 pediatric cardiologists, and 2 nurse practioners. Our team includes specialists in electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, advanced imaging, pulmonary hypertension, neurodevelopment, cardio-oncology, adult congenital heart disease and fetal care center. We provide care through the Detroit Metropolitan and south-east Michigan areas, supported by 2 congenital heart surgeons, a dedicated pediatric cardiac anesthesia team, and cardiac intensivists providing 24/7 in-house care in the Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at Children's Hospital of Michigan.
Childrens Hospital of Michigan is the leader in treating the most children for inpatient cardiovascular care in the Metropolitan Detroit area. The Pediatric Cardiologists and Pediatric Cardiovascular surgeons at Childrens Hospital of Michigan provide a full range of advanced cardiac services for newborns, infants, children, adolescents and adults with congenital or acquired heart disease. Our program is also designated as one of two UNOS certified cardiac transplant centers in the state of Michigan.
We are actively seeking an additional experienced Pediatric Interventional Cardiologist to join our robust program.
- Full-time, employed opportunity - Available immediately
- Work week is comprised of at least 2 days in the cath lab, 1 day of clinic, and 1 administrative day
- Shared call of 1:3 with two other Interventional Cardiologists for the cath lab rotation
- Attending Cardiology in-patent service 4 weeks per year
- Academic appointment through Central Michigan University
- Affiliation with Central Michigan University, Michigan State University, and Wayne State University School of Medicine for collaboration in teaching and research
- Tremendous research opportunity to work on cardiovascular interventions dedicated to the advancement of the science and treatment of infants, children, and adults requiring surgical/interventional procedures for the treatment of congenital heart disease.
Candidate Requirements:
- MD or DO degree required
- Board certification/board eligible in Pediatric Cardiology required
- Advanced fellowship in Cardiac Cath Intervention preferred
- 2-5 years of experience preferred
- Ability to obtain licensure in the State of Michigan
- An interest in teaching and research highly preferred as resident/fellow teaching is to be expected
