Location: Fleming Island, FL Schedule: Full-Time | Monday Friday (No Weekends) Hours: Choice of 8:00 AM 5:00 PM or 9:30 AM 6:00 PM
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and leadership-minded Pediatrician to serve as our Medical Director for CLIA Compliance & Quality Oversight. This role offers a unique balance of clinical excellence and administrative leadership. You will maintain a primary care practice for children birth through age 18 while serving as the clinical authority for our laboratory operations and quality assurance initiatives.
Qualifications
- Education: Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited school of medicine.
- Certification: Must be Board Certified in Pediatrics. (Board Eligible candidates will not be considered for this leadership role).
- Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Pediatrics; OR
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Pediatrics PLUS direct experience in CLIA oversight, Laboratory Management, or Quality Measures.
- Note: No new graduates will be considered for this position.
- Licensure: Active Florida Medical License (or eligibility to obtain one prior to start).
Key Responsibilities
1. Clinical Primary Care
- Provide full-scope pediatric care (well-child exams, sports physicals, and acute visits) for patients ages 018.
- Diagnose and treat acute illnesses and manage chronic pediatric conditions.
- Maintain accurate, timely Electronic Health Records (EHR) to ensure clinical excellence.
2. Laboratory Oversight & CLIA Compliance
- Regulatory Oversight: Review and oversee the Clinical Managers efforts in maintaining laboratory operations, ensuring strict compliance with CLIA standards and other regulatory requirements.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular reviews of lab maintenance, documentation, and quality control processes at all locations.
- Certification & Policy: Lead CLIA certification renewals and approve all policies and protocols related to lab operations.
3. Quality Assurance & Administrative Leadership
- Dedicated Administrative Time: To support these leadership duties, you will be scheduled time away from clinical floor duties (approximately 23 days per quarter) to focus specifically on Quality Assurance meetings and lab oversight.
- QA Leadership: Analyze lab-related quality metrics and lead Quality Assurance team meetings to discuss advancements in care and share insights.
- Strategic Development: Collaborate with other providers to develop and implement quality improvement strategies.
- Mentorship & Training: Serve as a clinical resource for the Clinical Manager and lab staff, ensuring they are trained and up-to-date on regulatory best practices and clinical standards.
