Job description
A Critical Access Hospital in Dickinson, North Dakota is seeking a Locum Pediatrician to provide 24-hour call coverage for 7 days per month, with urgent coverage needed in February and ongoing needs through 2026. This role includes newborn care, pediatric inpatient coverage, and delivery attendance in a collaborative setting with strong nursing and specialty support.
Job Responsibilities
• Attend vaginal deliveries when requested
• Attend all scheduled and emergent C-sections
• Admit and discharge newborns
• Provide inpatient care for pediatric patients
• Perform circumcisions
• Manage newborn resuscitation and stabilization
• Coordinate transfers when higher-level NICU care is required
Qualifications
• Active North Dakota license or IMLC
• ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
• Clean malpractice history
• Ability to perform required pediatric and newborn procedures
• Self-Query NPDB (within 30 days at presentation)
Working Hours
• 7 days per month
• Average callback: ~4.7 hours per shift
• Urgent coverage needed February + ongoing in 2026
