Position Description
Work Dates Needed:
-As soon as credentialed; 6 months to a year.
Preferred Schedule:
-Full-time; Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. Appointments are by referral only, and urgent appointments are available afterhours, weekends, & holidays
Worksite:
-San Jose, CA
Scope of Work:
-Preferred candidates are pediatricians with child abuse fellowship training or a general pediatrician with recent experience in child abuse beyond residency. Position will have pager call in rotation with other physicians to provide consultation to providers.
Clinical Responsibilities:
-Forensic evaluations for child sexual abuse, child physical abuse and neglect. Clinical hours and call schedule to be determined.
-Consultation in child physical abuse and neglect, when requested by the Department of Family and Children’s Services (DFCS/CPS), Law Enforcement, the District Attorney’s Office, and clinical providers within facility- inpatient and outpatient, and affiliated external clinic
-The candidate will have potential opportunities to participate in developmental assessments in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
-Supervision of facility advanced practice providers (physician’s assistants and nurse practitioners).
Licenses, Certifications, Requirements:
-Board Certified in Pediatrics. Child Abuse Fellowship or a general pediatrician with recent experience in child abuse. CA Medical License and DEA
