Job description Locums Pediatrics – Canon City, Colorado (IMLC Accepted) Key Availability
  • Jan 2 (7a) – Jan 5 (7a)
  • Jan 22 (7a) – Jan 23 (7a)
  • Ongoing dates starting Feb 2026 (schedule released monthly)
  • Candidates must be available for any listed dates to qualify for ongoing coverage – REQUIRED
Licenses & Certifications Required
  • Board Certified in Pediatrics
  • Active Colorado License OR Active IMLC (LOQ in hand at submission)
  • Active NRP
  • Acknowledgment of required EMR training completion steps
Highly Preferred (Must obtain before start if not current)
  • Active BLS & PALS
  • Active DEA
    • Required for credentialing; DEA transfer acceptable but must remain active for duration of assignment—not only during worked shifts.
Schedule & Coverage Details
  • 24-hour call (7a–7a)
  • 4–10 days per month (distributed among all locums)
  • Setting: Inpatient Pediatrics
  • Trauma Level: IV
  • Beds: 25
Clinical Responsibilities
  • Newborn admissions & discharges
  • Neonatal resuscitations
  • Circumcisions
  • ED consults
  • Pediatric & adolescent patient population
EMR & Training Requirements
  • EMR: EPIC
  • Mandatory Training Process:
  • Complete module lessons before virtual training
  • Attend virtual EPIC training
  • Must be finished ?1 week before first shift
Support & Environment
  • Support Staff: RN
  • Reason for Locums Need: Insufficient local providers able to cover full monthly schedules
