Locums | Pediatric Hospitalist | Call Only | Eureka, CA Why This Role

  • Provide 24-hour pediatric and newborn call coverage in a low-volume hospital setting.
  • Support neonatal and pediatric patients through airway management, stabilization, and emergency response.
  • Join a collaborative environment within a respected California-based health system.
Assignment Details Coverage Type: Call Only Setting: Inpatient Dates: 1/1–18, 2/1–14, 3/1–15 (2026) Schedule: 24-hour call (6a–6a, not required to be in-house) Census: Well babies 1–5 (up to 7); NICU 0–5 (usually 1–3); Pediatrics 0–1 EMR: Epic Credentialing: 60–90 days Privileges: Temporary privileges available Clinical Details Neonatal airway management and intubation Management of neonatal pneumothorax (needle decompression) Emergent UVC placement in delivery room UVC/UAC placement Lumbar puncture EKG interpretation Preferred: Ventilator management and neonatal chest tube insertion Requirements Board Certified or Board Eligible (within 3–5 years of residency) in Pediatrics Active California medical license NRP and PALS required Two years of recent inpatient hospital experience Clean background preferred but not required Compensation Rates: Facility is accepting bids Malpractice: Included Travel: Reimbursed
