Location: Kayenta, AZ (Kayenta Health Center, Inscription House Health Center, Dennehotso Health Station)
Position Type: Locum/Contract | Flexible Duration (13 weeks โ€“ 1 year, with possible extensions)
Schedule: Full-Time (40 hours per week) Paid Weekly!

๐ŸŒŸ About the Opportunity

The Navajo Area Indian Health Service (NAIHS) is seeking a mission-driven Pediatric Physician to provide high-quality, culturally sensitive care to children and families across the Kayenta Service Unit. This is a unique opportunity to serve one of the largest Native American populations in the U.S. while working in a collaborative, supportive clinical environment.

๐Ÿงธ Key Responsibilities

  • Provide outpatient and inpatient pediatric care, including diagnosis, treatment, and referrals

  • Manage acute illnesses, chronic conditions, immunizations, urgent care, and emergencies

  • Offer preventive care, anticipatory guidance, and limited nutritional/behavioral counseling

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care

  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)

  • Adhere to IHS, CMS, Joint Commission, and facility-specific standards

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff meetings

โœ… Qualifications

  • Completion of an approved Pediatric residency

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics (ABMS/AOA)

  • Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state

  • Current DEA registration and Arizona PDMP enrollment

  • BLS and ACLS certification (PALS preferred)

  • Experience with EMR/EHR systems

  • Must meet immunization and health requirements prior to start

  • Background check, fingerprinting, and security clearance required
