• Diagnose and treat illnesses, medical conditions, injuries and emergencies
• Order, perform and interpret diagnostic tests
• Collect, record and maintain patients' information and histories
• Prescribe and administer treatments, therapies, medications, vaccinations, and other specialized medical care
• Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients and family members
• Notify patients of laboratory and radiology results and document the conversation
• Monitor patients' conditions and progress
• Direct, coordinate, consult with and refer patients to other health care providers
• Advise patients, parents, and guardians on diets, activities, hygiene, and disease prevention
• Remain up to date on current trends, discoveries, and developments in the field
• Conduct and/or participate in quality improvement projects and other projects within the department
• Supervise health care offered by Mid-Level Medical Practitioners and other non-physician medical staff
• Serve as an on-call pediatrician in rotation with the other pediatricians
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation on all medical records in compliance with established guidelines and policies
• Perform other related duties as assigned by leadership
