C & A Psychiatrist Opportunity in Southeast Alaska
Position: Psychiatrist
Location: Juneau, Alaska
Setting: Behavioral Health Services
Opportunity Highlights:
Provide high-quality psychiatric care in an outpatient setting with occasional consultation-liaison and emergency services
Collaborate with interdisciplinary behavioral health teams

Responsibilities:
Provide psychiatric evaluations, psychotherapy, psychopharmacological therapy, and psychiatric emergency triage
Perform differential diagnoses and treatment interventions based on clinical information
Treat complex and seriously ill patients while providing education and support to patients, families, and medical providers
Offer psychiatric consultation and guidance to our medical staff
Maintain thorough documentation per our medical staff rules and regulations
Support psychiatric residents with clinical supervision, coaching, and mentoring when applicable
Embrace cultural competence in patient and community communication
Participate in medical staff activities and committees
Requirements:
Education: MD or DO with completion of an AMA-approved psychiatric residency
Experience:
- Knowledge of best practices in psychiatric diagnosis and treatment
- Proficiency in psychopharmacology and psychiatric medications
- Experience working with diverse patient populations, including those with substance abuse
Certifications:
- Active DEA Registration
- Ongoing board certification in psychiatry
- Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, PALS (as required)
- Buprenorphine registration strongly preferred
Licenses:
- Unrestricted license to practice medicine in Alaska
Skills & Abilities:
Strong communication skills, both written and oral
Ability to assess complex clinical situations, especially high-risk patients
Demonstrated leadership in fostering cooperative working relationships with patients and medical teams
Empathy, respect, and professionalism in patient care and staff interactions

Travel: Minimal travel may be required
