Position: Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician
Location: Bethlehem, PA - Allentown 10m
Schedule: Full-Time, permanent position
Position Overview
A Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician is sought to provide high-quality emergency care in a dynamic emergency medicine setting. The physician will be responsible for patient evaluation, treatment, and follow-up, while also contributing to policy development, quality improvement, and staff supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Provide emergency medical care and follow-up evaluations.
Order and evaluate diagnostic tests, labs, referrals, and consultations as needed.
Maintain an understanding of the Pennsylvania Workers Compensation Act and OSHA regulations.
Assist in the development, implementation, and revision of policies and procedures affecting medical practice and quality.
Supervise and provide guidance to Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners.
Lead medical quality improvement initiatives.
Serve as a liaison with the medical community to enhance patient care.
Demonstrate competency in pediatric emergency care, treatment, and communication.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to network safety policies.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of medicine.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine (must obtain certification within one year of hire).
Minimum of one year of experience (preferably in an emergency medicine setting).
Fluency in Spanish is desirable.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
Frequent use of hands for grasping, handling, and twisting.
Rarely lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance and pushing/pulling patients up to 300 pounds.
Near and far vision acuity and the ability to hear high and low frequencies.
