Overview

Position Summary

Provide diagnostic and treatment services to children with rheumatologically disorders. Coordinate the efforts of related professionals to assure continuous availability of services. Monitor and take steps to enhance the quality of pediatric rheumatology services delivered at UICOMP Department of Pediatrics and at UICOMP's main clinical partner, Children's Hospital of Illinois. Develop and work on educational programs and activities for medical students, residents and fellows in relation to pediatric rheumatology. Maintain a spirit of inquiry and scholarship in the activities of the Rheumatology Service. Perform administrative duties and University service as assigned. Some travel may be required between healthcare facilities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide acute and ongoing consultative care to children that have rheumatologic illnesses in both the hospital and outpatient settings.
  • Participate in education and training programs for medical students and residents and fellows in the Department of Pediatrics
  • Participate in Collaborative research activities of the Division of Rheumatology and department
  • Perform other duties of a university faculty member including committee assignments, curriculum development and student counseling.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

  • Eligible for Illinois licensure
  • BC/BE Pediatrics and/or Pediatric Rheumatology
