The Nemours Foundation is developing a national reputation and has increased the numbers and clinical expertise of the faculty under its current leadership. The current Chair of the Department of Surgery at the Nemours Children’s Specialty Care- Jacksonville has accepted the role of Chief Medical Officer for this campus. The institution is looking for a successor who will continue to develop the Department as a nationally and internationally recognized leader in pediatric clinical care, education, and research. Board-certified pediatric surgeons seeking a unique opportunity to lead an already-established Department in Northeast Florida/ Southeast Georgia and the surrounding areas are encouraged to apply for this challenging role.

The Department of Surgery at Nemours Children’s Specialty Care is seeking a Department Chair to lead the Department of Surgical services to include, research, education and clinical care. The Chair may have protected time for academic pursuits based on interests and will maintain a surgical practice. Academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s level of experience.

The position will be named the Albert Wilkinson Endowed Chair in Pediatric Surgery in honor of the late Dr. Wilkinson, the father of pediatric surgery in Northeast Florida. The Chair will report directly to the Chief Medical Officer at Nemours Children’s Specialty Care-Jacksonville.
