Job description
The Pediatric Surgeon is responsible for providing high-quality surgical care to infants, children, and adolescents. This role includes the evaluation, diagnosis, and surgical treatment of congenital, acquired, and traumatic conditions in pediatric patients. The Pediatric Surgeon practices in accordance with established clinical standards, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements while collaborating with a multidisciplinary care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Job Responsibilities
Examine patients to provide information on medical condition and surgical risk.
Follow established surgical techniques during the operation consistent with the accepted standards of care.
Contribute to the planning, coordination and compliance with hospital policies and departmental policies.
Participate in surgical residency education.
Provide consultative and advisory services to clinicians as requested.
Maintain necessary and appropriate documentation for all services provided in compliance with regulatory and hospital policies.
Provide on call and/or clinic coverage as requested by Chairperson of the Department of Surgery.
Participate in scholarly activity and research.
Perform other duties as assigned.
