Pediatric Surgeon - Academic Opportunity
High Case Volume | Strong Support | Program-Building Role
An established academic medical center in Illinois is seeking a Pediatric Surgeon to join its pediatric surgery program within the Division of General Surgery. This replacement position offers immediate volume, excellent support, and the opportunity to help shape and expand the service line.
Position Highlights
- Join a collaborative team with 1 Pediatric Surgeon, experienced NP, and resident support
- ~500 annual cases across a broad mix: hernias, g-tubes, pectus, Hirschsprung's, and neonatal surgery (NEC, gastroschisis, EA/TEF, CPAMs, anorectal malformations, etc.)
- Dedicated OR block time, ½ day admin, and clinic hours 8-3:30
- Call: ~10 days/month with resident coverage
- Average 40 operative cases/month per surgeon
Academic Environment
- Full faculty appointment at an accredited medical school
- Teaching residents & medical students

- Academic rank open (Assistant-Professor)
Ideal Candidate
- Pediatric Surgery fellowship-trained; BE/BC
- Eligible for Illinois licensure
- Experienced candidates preferred; strong new graduates welcome
- Interest in program development, mentorship, and potential leadership
- Visa sponsorship considered

- Hybrid compensation model: University base + RVU-driven clinical salary
