Job description

Provide inpatient pediatric surgical coverage, including emergency and trauma cases.

Be available for beeper call coverage (15-minute response time).

Perform surgical procedures in a Level 1 trauma and pediatric setting.

Participate in admissions, manage unassigned patients, and respond to urgent consults.

Chart using Epic EMR.

Board Certified in Pediatric Surgery (Required)

Fellowship trained in Pediatric Surgery (Required)

Active Pennsylvania medical license (IMLC not accepted)

Must have experience in trauma surgery

Credentialing timeframe: 90 days

Certifications required: ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS

12-hour clinical shifts (one scheduled day per assignment period)

Call schedule: Beeper call from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM (24-hour coverage)

Call back rate: ~15%, avg. 5 phone consults/day, 2 admissions/day
