Weekday Day Shifts
7 am to 4 pm
12 pm to 8 pm – this is the shift they request call for with one of the two regulars covering the AM shift
Call
Mon-Thur nights: 8 pm to 7 am
Weekends: 8 pm Friday to 7 am Monday
Level 2 trauma center-If they get called, they need to be close by and report to hospital within 30 minutes
Weekend shift usually covers procedures as well, with the MD required to respond within 30 minutes for emergency procedures
MUST HAVES:
- Double board certified - Diagnostic Radiology & Pediatric Radiology
- Inpatient Epic experience
- Clean background with no malpractice claims - NO disciplinary actions of any kind - Requirement for emergency privileging
- Must have completed an accredited 3 year residency program; subspecialty fellowship in Pediatric Radiology is required
- Must have unrestricted CA license
- DEA required
- BLS or ACLS
- 1 year of experience, 3+ preferred
Support Staff: Hospital-based support
Coverage Type: Cover an absence or vacancy; may need weekend shift assistance
Schedule Details: Depends on whether day shift, onsite call shift, or remote "on-call"
Shift times: Weekdays: 9-hr day shift from 7a-4p, in-house
Work Details:
Facility Type: Hospital: Miller Children's and Women's Hospital Long Beach. One radiology department and one ER department serve both hospitals. They are "on call" for studies that must be ready by a peds rad.
Practice Setting: Inpatient
EMR: Epic (inpatient) experience required
Vaccines Mandatory?: Not mandatory, but must mask between 11/1-4/30 if unvaccinated for flu or covid
Avg Daily Census: N/A
Patient Age Group: All pediatric cases
Procedures: Fluoroscopies if working onsite
Special Skills: PACS
