Exciting locum opportunity for an experienced Orthopedic Surgeon to provide 24/7 call coverage at a community hospital with a Level III trauma center. Ideal for providers currently in active practice who enjoy rural medicine with strong clinical support and competitive compensation.
Exciting locum opportunity for an experienced Orthopedic Surgeon to provide 24/7 call coverage at a community hospital with a Level III trauma center. Ideal for providers currently in active practice who enjoy rural medicine with strong clinical support and competitive compensation.
Job Responsibilities
• 24/7 on-call coverage for ED and inpatient orthopedic consultations
• Perform full-scope general orthopedic procedures
• Manage consults and callbacks as needed
• Higher-acuity cases transferred to tertiary centers
Qualifications
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
• Active California medical license
• DEA (required during credentialing)
• CA Fluoroscopy certificate (required by start date)
• Actively working at a facility (not straight out of residency)
• Clean malpractice and NPDB record
Working Hours
• 24-hour call coverage
• Dates: Feb 13–15 (ending Feb 16 AM)
• Weekend call included
Skills
• Strong orthopedic surgical and consult skills
• Emergency and inpatient coverage experience
• Ability to work independently in a rural setting
• Proficiency with EMR (Cerner)
