Specialty & Coverage:

• Pediatric Ophthalmology

• Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) NICU screening

• Provider will cover 3 NICUs across the El Paso hospital campuses

• Estimated total coverage: Approximately 48 hours

• One screening per patient

Schedule:

• 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

• No call coverage

Patient & Clinical Details:

• Patient age: 0–1 year
• Setting: Inpatient
• Service: NICU rounding
• Patient volume: Approximately 65 patients per day in clinic
• Support staff: Nursing staff available in the NICUs
• Hospital Stroke Certified

Scope of Need:

• Perform ROP screenings for premature infants in the NICUs across all three El Paso hospital campuses

EMR: Cerner

Requirements:

• Board Certified in Ophthalmology

• Active Texas license

• Fellowship preferred

• ACLS certification required

• BLS certification required

• PALS certification required
