The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of California, San Francisco, is seeking a dynamic, skilled Pediatric Ophthalmologist to fill a full-time faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. This individual will join our renowned pediatric ophthalmology division and be responsible for patient care primarily at the Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland campus, with future responsibilities at other campuses in the East Bay.
Why UCSF?
Safe, Welcoming Neighborhoods with Strong Community Oakland and the East Bay offer a variety of family-friendly neighborhoods where community matters. From tree-lined streets in Rockridge to family-oriented events and local parks, kids and parents alike enjoy a supportive and welcoming environment.
Diverse and Vibrant Culture Oakland is one of the most culturally rich and inclusive cities in the U.S. From its deep-rooted history in social justice and the arts to its thriving food, music, and festival scenes, Oakland embraces and celebrates diversity in every form.
Access to Nature — Right in the City You don’t have to leave Oakland to get outdoors. Hike through redwood forests in the Oakland Hills, paddle around Lake Merritt, or explore over 100,000 acres of regional parks just minutes from downtown.
Food Scene That Rivals the Best From legendary tacos and soul food to Michelin-starred dining, the East Bay food scene is a global experience all on its own. Temescal, Uptown, and Fruitvale neighborhoods are must-visits for culinary adventurers.
Central, Connected, and Convenient Oakland offers easy access to San Francisco, Berkeley, and Silicon Valley — all via BART, ferry, or a quick drive. And with its own international airport, weekend getaways are just a nonstop flight away.
A City with Soul — and Space Oakland blends urban energy with neighborhood charm. Whether you're drawn to lofts in Jack London Square or historic homes in Rockridge, there’s a sense of space and character here that’s hard to find in bigger cities.
The minimum base salary range for this position is $136,100 - $357,500
