The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences has a long-standing history of providing outstanding care for our patients, conducting leading-edge, collaborative research, and educating the next generation of ophthalmologists and vision science researchers. The department is seeking faculty for a full-time position in the subspecialty of pediatrics and adult strabismus. Appointment rank may be at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level and to either the tenure track clinical (non-tenure) track consistent with clinical experience and research interest and commensurate with experience. The position entails clinical activity at the University of Iowa Health Care university campus and UI Pediatric Specialty Clinic (PSC).

Faculty appointments with significant administrative/leadership responsibilities must include a required qualification about job-related experience with fostering a welcoming and respectful work/academic environment or otherwise demonstrate the ability to foster a welcoming and respectful work/academic environment. Qualifications

Requirements:
• Graduate from fully accredited ophthalmology residency program
• Subspecialty training in pediatrics and adult strabismus
• Demonstrated medical and surgical skills in pediatrics and adult strabismus
• Demonstrated medical and surgical skills in ROP screening exams and treatment
• Demonstrated medical and surgical skills in pediatric cataract surgery
• Demonstrated experience with resident and fellow training
• Must be eligible to work in the United States
• Must be licensed ore eligible for licensure in the state of Iowa
• Must be BE/BC for certification by the American Board of Ophthalmology within three years of hire

Desirable qualifications:
• Experience in clinical or basic science research
• Expertise in diagnostic and treatment of pediatric low vision
• Expertise in diagnostic and treatment of inherited eye disorders
• Expertise in diagnostic and treatment of pediatric neuroophthalmological disorders
• Demonstrated experience working effectively in a welcoming and respectful workplace environment
