Clinical Responsibilities:

• Coverage includes both inpatient and outpatient pediatric nephrology care
• Admissions required
• Hospital patient volume varies
• Outpatient volume: Approximately 7 patients
• Bed capacity: Hospital – 189 beds | Outpatient – 5 beds
• Rounding: N/A

Certification & Licensing Requirements:

• Board Certification: Required (or Board Eligible) in Pediatrics – Nephrology
• License Requirement: Active Pennsylvania license or IMLC
• PALS: Required

Description / Other Details:

• The provider will manage and treat conditions such as Bartter’s Syndrome, Fabry Disease, Fanconi Syndrome, Hemolytic-Uremic Syndrome, Hepatorenal Syndrome, and Renal Transplant patients (experience preferred). EEG reads are required.
• Providers must commit to at least one week per month, ideally two weeks per month.

Required / Preferred Procedures:

• Hemodialysis – Required
• Percutaneous Renal Biopsy – Preferred
• Peritoneal Dialysis (acute/chronic) – Preferred
• Needle Biopsy of the Kidney – Preferred

Call Schedule:

• Call begins Monday at 7:00 AM and ends the following Monday at 7:00 AM
• Provider must be available for evening and weekend calls during the on-call week

Clinical Responsibilities:

• See a minimum of 5 outpatients per day in clinic
• Provide inpatient rounds and consults

Clinic Hours:

• Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Typically, the workload is 70% inpatient and 30% outpatient, though this may vary depending on patient volume.
