Seeking a Locum Pediatric Hospitalist to provide 24-hour call coverage with dedicated inpatient rounding. The role involves caring for newborns, pediatric inpatients, Level I & II nursery patients, performing essential procedures, and responding to ED consults. Clean malpractice preferred for emergency credentialing.
Job Responsibilities
8 hours of rounding on pediatric inpatients and newborns
Attend high-risk deliveries when requested (rare: ~1–2/month)
Stabilize and transfer critically ill neonatal/pediatric patients
Perform required pediatric & neonatal procedures
Respond to ED consults and inpatient admissions
Manage Level I & Level II nursery patients
Occasional teaching opportunities
Use Patient Keeper EMR (interface with Meditech)
Qualifications
Oregon License (Required)
DEA (Required)
Must maintain availability for dates submitted
Clean malpractice/background strongly preferred
Must have performed at least 2 of each in the past 24 months:
Endotracheal intubations/vent management
Neonatal resuscitation
Lumbar puncture
Umbilical line placement
Must be able to perform IVIG
Local provider highly preferred (no flights)
Working Hours
Includes 8 hours of rounding
Part of rotating monthly schedule
Coverage needed March–June + ongoing into 2026
