ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking a Pediatric Hospitalist to provide 24-hour on-call coverage for December 2025, with potential for ongoing dates. This role focuses primarily on newborn care with limited pediatric and adolescent cases. The position is ideal for a board-certified or board-eligible pediatrician experienced in newborn medicine, procedures, and neonatal resuscitation.
Dates / Schedule

Coverage Date: December 25 (8:00 a.m.) – December 26 (8:00 a.m.), 2025

Call Coverage: 24-hour on-call shift

Ongoing Coverage: Potential for future dates after December

Proximity Requirement: Must live within or be able to stay within 30 minutes of the hospital

Emergency Temporary Privileges: Available for clean background with active OH license & DEA
Job Details / Responsibilities

Provide 24-hour inpatient call coverage for pediatric and newborn patients.

Manage a caseload consisting of approximately 90% newborns, 5% pediatrics, and 5% adolescents.

Conduct daily newborn rounds (average census: 3–4 newborns).

Pediatric census averages 0–1 admission every two months.

Perform newborn procedures, including circumcisions (required) and UVC/UAC placement (highly preferred).

Interpret X-rays and provide management recommendations as needed.

Supervise or allow medical students to observe newborn rounds when applicable.

Document care appropriately and maintain compliance with hospital policies and credentialing requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Board Certified or Board Eligible Pediatrician (within 5 years of residency) – Preferred/Required

Active Ohio Medical License – Required

Active Ohio DEA License – Required

BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required

NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Required

Newborn Care Experience – Required

X-ray Interpretation Skills – Required

Circumcision Experience – Required (no exceptions)

UVC/UAC Experience – Highly Preferred

Clean Background – Required for temporary privileges

NPDB Self-Query Report – Required at time of submission
