A community-based hospital in Ohio is seeking a Pediatric Hospitalist for 24-hour on-call locum coverage. The provider will manage primarily newborn and limited pediatric cases while supporting inpatient and nursery services. The role emphasizes patient-centered care within a collaborative clinical team.
Job Responsibilities
Perform newborn procedures such as circumcisions and umbilical line placements (UVC/UAC preferred).
Interpret X-rays and manage clinical decision-making for pediatric patients.
Respond to on-call duties within 30 minutes during 24-hour shifts.
Collaborate with nursing staff, residents, and medical students during patient rounds.
Qualifications
Active Ohio Medical License and DEA (required).
BLS and NRP certifications (required).
Experience with newborn and pediatric care (required).
Clean background required for temporary privileges.
Working Hours
Must be available for December dates (ongoing coverage).
Weekend coverage required.
Skills
Competent in circumcision and X-ray interpretation.
Strong emergency response and clinical judgment abilities.
Excellent communication and teamwork in a hospital setting.
