Job description
We are seeking a skilled Pediatric Hospitalist to provide high-quality inpatient care for pediatric and newborn patients. This opportunity is ideal for a compassionate and board-certified/eligible physician with a strong background in general pediatrics and experience in hospitalist care. The position includes both day and night shifts, rotating coverage across general pediatric and newborn units, with flexibility for occasional 24-hour shifts.

Provide comprehensive medical care to pediatric patients in the general pediatrics floor and newborn nursery

Conduct consultations in the emergency department

Manage an average of 7 pediatric inpatients and 20 newborns per shift

Perform lumbar punctures as needed

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including NICU, PICU, and pediatric sub-specialists

Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR

Participate in patient rounds and handoffs with day/night shift transitions
-
No delivery attendance or circumcision required

MD or DO from an accredited medical school

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics

Active Pennsylvania medical license

Valid DEA license

Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience preferred

Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS

7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (General Pediatrics or Newborn)

7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Combined coverage: Pediatrics, Newborn, ED Consults)

Estimated 14 shifts per month

No on-call responsibilities

Will work solo during assigned shifts

Generally no back-to-back 24-hour shifts (considered on case-by-case basis)
