Locums – Redding, California, Pediatrics Hospitalist Opening
  • Clinical Role:

    • Coverage needed:
    • June 1-19

      June 26-30 Aug 1-13 Aug 28-Sept 2

    • Setting: Small community hospital -- 70 beds
    • FTE: Solo pediatrician on for the 24/7 time periods.
    • Duties: Provide care for 0–18-year-old patients. Standby/on call for emergency or complicated C-sections, ED call for pediatric patients
    • Required Procedures: Neonatal resuscitation. High risk or complex patients transferred to higher level of care.
    • EMR: Cerner
    • Support Staff: RN staff
    • Average Number of admissions per day: 4 (3-5) pediatric patients and 7 (3-15) newborn/nursery patients
    • No PICU or NICU -- patients managed just until able to transfer out to a higher level of care
    • Emergency Codes are run by emergency medicine physicians
    • Will provide an in-person evaluation or phone consultation based on ER physician's determination of the patient's condition. The pediatric hospitalist is the attending for any children admitted through the ER or by direct admit
    • Pediatric Hospitalist is the attending for newborns admitted to the well-baby nursery after delivery. We have neonatologists who attend all high-risk deliveries
    • Board Certified or Truly board Eligible - Required
    • Active CA License - Required
    • Residency Required
    • ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS, DEA - Required
    • Malpractice – Clean Required
