I am working with CHI Mercy Health-Mercy Medical Center in Roseburg, OR and they are looking for some temporary Pediatric Hospitalist coverage over the next several months. I wanted to touch base with you to see if you might have any availability to help out. Level 2 Nursery
This facility is looking for 24-hour call coverage for the following dates:
Apr 19-21
May 20-26
June 13-16
July 1-7
This facility will have more dates to come August ongoing
Shift time: 7a-7a
These 24-hour call shifts will include 8 hours of gratis each day
The locum will round and discharge in the mornings of each shift
Patients per day: 2-4
Duties: Attending Physician for Inpatient Peds and ED Consults. Rounding on inpatient peds and newborns in Family Birth Center. Stabilize and transfer critical patients.
*Required Procedures: Lumbar puncture, intubations, umbilical lines
No circumcisions required
The locum will never be asked to attend delivery unless the infant is not responding or persistent CPAP is needed
Open or closed Pediatric ICU? We don’t have an in-house pediatric ICU, but we do provide some ICU level care (DKA, high-flow nasal cannula) on the floor; and some level 2 nursery care (CPAP, hypoglycemia management, NG feeds, hemodynamically stable sepsis) for the neonates.
Neonatology support? Sacred Heart is available for phone consults and transfers. The transfer team is dedicated NICU staff who will help further stabilize the baby as-needed before transporting back to Eugene, OR.
Orientation is 2-3 days
ACLS, BLS, PALS are required CPR certifications
Candidates must have an active OR license and DEA
EMR: Patient Keeper (interface with MediTech)
30-60 days to privilege
$2300 per 24-hour call shift including 8 hours of gratis
$216 per hour for any hour worked in the facility after 8 hours per day
