Responsibilities

Duties include inpatient care services to infants. Successful candidates will interact with an interdisciplinary team of health care professionals working in Level 1 and Level 2 nursery settings. We offer competitive compensation and excellent benefits. Shift coverage 7 on/7off, 5 on/9 off to include at least one weekend a month for a total of 156 shifts annually. A "shift" is twenty-four hours in length consisting of eight hours of clinical services onsite and sixteen hours of unrestricted call coverage.

As a Newborn Pediatric Hospitalist, you will complete initial assessments/evaluations of newborn patients while providing ongoing monitoring of patients' medical conditions and providing appropriate treatment. Order prescription medications and diagnostic procedures while authorizing and coordinating all specialty/ancillary services. Maintaining a consultative relationship with nurses, social workers, staff clinic nurses, rehab staff and other team members is expected. Participating in the development of such programs as preventive health screenings, immunization programs, professional community outreach, quality assurance and others is required.
