Hematology Oncology Physician Job Details

• Location: Pontiac, MI 48342 – Southeast Michigan healthcare jobs with access to lakes, parks, and a welcoming community.
• Employment Type: Locum tenens physician contract
• Setting: Outpatient Hematology Oncology clinic
• Start Date: January 19, 2026
• End Date: April 20, 2026
• Shift: 8-hour day shifts (Monday, Wednesday, Friday; 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
• On-Call: Clinic call only, as needed
• Average Patients per Day: 15–20 outpatient oncology patients
• EMR: Cerner electronic medical records
• Support Staff: Oncology Registered Nurses, Medical Assistants, Social Worker, Dietitian, Nurse Navigator
• Onsite Services: Infusion center, onsite CBC laboratory
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $7,050–$8,350

Physician Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology and Medical Oncology
• Active Michigan medical license required
• BLS/ACLS certification
• Minimum 1 year of outpatient hematology oncology experience
• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
• Local Michigan candidates only (no flights provided)

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver outpatient hematology and oncology care to clinic patients
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor board meetings
• Collaborate with nurse practitioners, oncology RNs, medical assistants, social workers, dietitians, and nurse navigators
• Manage clinic call responsibilities as needed
• Utilize onsite infusion center and CBC laboratory services
• Provide compassionate, high-quality patient care during a recruitment gap
